Why Hannibal
Hannibal of Carthage is remembered for crossing the Alps when every sensible route was closed. We like that story because it matches the projects we enjoy most: the ones with a hard problem at the centre, where the standard tool doesn't reach.
We are based in Tunisia, a short flight from the UK and one hour or less from UK time all year, so we work your hours and you talk to the people writing your code.
Principles we learned on real projects
- Live the problem first. We spend three to five days inside your operations before designing anything.
- Remove the human step. If a process has to be reliable, it belongs in the system as a click, not in someone's memory.
- Design the data carefully. One wrong early assumption costs far more to undo later.
- Ship value in weeks. One feature you use beats a year-long plan you can't see.
- Tell the truth early. When we found a flaw in our own security, we told the client the same day.
- Say when you don't need us. Off-the-shelf is sometimes the right answer.
